SAD NEWS: Shocking Truth Behind Coronation Street Icon’s Finally Quit Leaves Fans Heartbroken

Coronation Street’s Max Turner was rushed to hospital after a devastating fire

Coronation Street aired explosive scenes recently after a devastating fire at the Platt family’s house.

Earlier this week, a deadly explosion blasted through the Platts’ household with everything changing for David, Shona, and their loved ones.

It’s been revealed that the fire was actually an act of arson and in upcoming scenes everyone on the cobbles is under suspicion as they scramble to prove their innocence to the police.

The dramatic scenes, which aired on Monday 3 February, showed residents trapped inside with no sign of Toyah Battersby or the children.

This prompted Nick Tilsley, Shona and Max Turner to brave the flames. However, in a devastating twist, Max was left trapped inside as an explosion went off.

Talking about his reason for leaving the hit ITV soap, Max actor Paddy, 22, told The Mirror: “After much reflection and in an incredibly difficult decision, I have chosen to step away from Max, and Coronation Street, to explore new opportunities. I have been surrounded by such kindness and support every step of the way.”

The actor, who won the rising star award at the National Television Awards in 2022, said he was “eternally grateful” to bosses for giving him the chance to bring Max’s complicated story to life in the soap, having taken over the role in 2021 from previous actor Harry McDermott.

“It’s been a great privilege to contribute to the legacy of such a well-loved and iconic show,” he said. “This chapter has been unforgettable and while I look forward to what lies ahead, I will treasure these memories.”

Coronation Street is on ITV1 at 8pm on Monday, Wednesday and Friday and on ITV X and STV.
