SAD NEWS: Iconic Coronation Street character confirms cancer diagnosis as fears mount

Kevin Webster’s (Michael Le Vell) worst fears are confirmed in Coronation Street this week as he’s told he has cancer.

Earlier this month, the Weatherfield mechanic shocked wife Abi Webster (Sally Carman) with news he was undergoing tests after finding a lump.

It proved difficult for her to take on board, as she was starting to unravel after trying to save stab victim Mason Radcliffe’s (Luca Toolan) life, triggered by the memory of son Seb Franklin (Harry Visinoni), who was murdered in similarly violent circumstances in 2021.

In scenes to air tomorrow, Kevin reveals he’s been told he has testicular cancer to his friends and family.

Pal Dev Alahan (Jimmi ​​Harkishin) is shocked while Abi is worried sick, but does her best to appear positive.

She confides in Nina Lucas (Mollie Gallagher) how Mason’s death has reignited her grief over Seb and now she’s worried about Kevin’s health too.

When Abi later looks at her reflection in the window and sees another vision of Seb staring back at her.

Making out she’s tired, Abi heads to bed leaving Kevin concerned.

On Wednesday, Abi is on her way to collect Kevin from his ultrasound with Alfie in the car when she has another panic attack at the recent as she sees the place where Mason died.

Climbing out of the car, she is overwhelmed with terror and guilt when she imagines herself cradling Seb’s body and runs away.

At the hospital, Kevin is surprised to find his sister Debbie Webster (Sue Devaney) – not Abi – in the waiting room. Returning home, he finds Abi curled up on the sofa and tells her he will get his scan results in a couple of weeks.

But his concern for Abi mounts when he offers to pick up Alife from the childminder and she looks at him aghast.

Later that day, Abi returns home and is shocked to find Kevin sat at the table with a social worker…

Can Kevin get Abi the help she needs amid his own turmoil?
