Is ‘Landman’ Renewed for Season 2? Here’s Everything We Know So Far

Please, Taylor Sheridan—we're begging!

Taylor Sheridan fans have been buzzing with one question lately: Is Landman renewed for season 2? If you’ve already binged the first season on Paramount+ (of course you did), then you’re probably just as eager to see what’s next for Tommy Norris and the high-stakes world of Texas oil.

While we’re still waiting for an official renewal announcement, there’s plenty of speculation about the show’s future—and if we know Sheridan, Landman will be back bigger and bolder than ever. (After all, this is the same man who brought us Yellowstone and its many prequels, sequels, and spinoffsplus other fan-favorites like Tulsa King and Lioness.) With an all-star cast featuring Billy Bob Thornton, Jon Hamm, and Demi Moore, not to mention those nail-biting cliffhangers from season 1, there’s way too much momentum for the story to end here.

So, what could be in store for Landman season 2? Read on everything we know about the show’s next chapter, from potential plot twists to casting updates.

Will there be a Landman season 2?

Landman Season 2: Will It Happen? Everything We Know

While Paramount+ hasn’t officially confirmed Landman season 2, fans have plenty of reasons to stay hopeful. In a recent interview with Variety, the show’s co-creator Christian Wallace hinted that there’s more story to tell—though he remained tight-lipped on exactly what’s coming. Meanwhile, Demi Moore couldn’t contain her excitement about the show’s future. At the Cannes Film Festival in May 2024, the actress who plays Cami Miller let it slip that filming for the second season would begin in early 2025.

With Taylor Sheridan’s track record of delivering multiple seasons of hit shows, it’s only a matter of time before we get the official news of a renewal. Fingers crossed!

What will Landman season 2 be about?

Paramount+ hasn’t released a synopsis for Landman season 2 yet, but it’s safe to assume the show will dive deeper into the explosive world of the West Texas oil industry and all the drama that comes with it. If season 1 laid the groundwork with its fiery family feuds, high-stakes business deals, and the harsh realities of life on the rigs, season 2 is sure to be packed with even more excitement.

At the heart of the story is Tommy Norris (Billy Bob Thornton), a crisis management executive whose job is to put out the literal and figurative fires threatening the business. Whether he’s navigating corporate politics or managing his own complicated relationships, it’s clear that Tommy’s struggles are far from over.

There’s also room for plenty more conflict surrounding the industry itself. Season 1 ended with a dramatic twist: M-Tex Oil CEO Monty Miller (Jon Hamm) seemingly died after a heart transplant surgery following his hospitalization for a heart attack. The emotional finale showed Monty lying lifeless in a hospital bed, with his wife and their two daughters by his side. Before his death, Monty made it clear that he wanted Tommy to take over M-Tex—a move that will shake up the oil industry and Tommy’s life. As Wallace put it, taking “one major player off the board” opens up room for other characters to develop even further. We can only imagine what’s in store for Tommy!

Who will be in the cast of Landman season 2?

Landman season 2 will certainly see Billy Bob Thornton return as Tommy Norris, who now faces the responsibility of running M-Tex Oil. Demi Moore is also more than likely to return as Cami Miller, whose life has been turned upside-down after the death of her husband. And although we saw Monty die in the season 1 finale, flashbacks or dream sequences could easily bring Jon Hamm back into the picture. This is Taylor Sheridan’s world, after all!

We’re sure that other key cast members, like Ali Larter, Michelle Randolph, and Jacob Lofland, will return to the small screen for Landman season 2 as well. And knowing Sheridan’s knack for piling on the drama, we can probably expect to see some new faces show up in West Texas.

Is there a trailer for Landman season 2?

Not yet! But if you’re itching for more of your favorite show, there are plenty of pivotal moments documented on the Paramount+ YouTube channel. We recommend watching this Q&A with Billy Bob Thornton and trying to pick up hints about what’s coming next. 👀
