EastEnders fans have ‘worked out’ Stacey Slater’s new love interest following the shock death of Martin Fowler.
On the long-running BBC One soap last week, fans were left heartbroken when Martin (James Bye) was killed off in the 40th anniversary live episode. He found himself trapped inside the Queen Vic, along with Stacey (Lacey Turner) following an explosion.
Things took a dramatic turn though when Martin was pinned down by a falling metal beam. As he awaited paramedics with Stacey at his side, he bared his soul to her, confessing his love.
In emotional scenes, and knowing he wasn’t going to make it, the former flames rekindled their romance and Martin proposed – to which Stacey said yes.

However, at the end of the episode, Martin sadly passed away as Stacey broke down in tears clutching his chest. And now, fans are already convinced they know who Stacey will strike up a romance with next – and it’s with a returning Walford favourite.
Stacey has been a staple on the soap for years – and it’s fair to say she has had her fair share of romances too throughout her stint. She famously married the beloved Bradley Branning (Charlie Clements) back in 2007 and who could forget her iconic affair storyline with his dad Max Branning (Jake Wood).
Fans have ‘worked out’ Stacey’s next romance
Stacy was also married to Martin from 2016 to 2010 and share daughter Lily (Lillia Turner). Stacey also had another saucy affair with Kush Kazemi (Davood Ghadami), and dated Kheerat Panesar (Jaz Deol).
What’s more, in 2024, Stacey ended up sleeping with another Branning member, Jack (Scott Maslen). But now, fans have ‘worked out’ her new romance on the BBC soap.
Fans are predicting a Kheerat and Stacey reunion
“Bring Back Kheerat for Stacy!” declared one viewer on an EastEnders Facebook fan page. Someone else wrote: “Yes!!!! Absolutely. Kheerat return.” A third chimed in: “I would love to see him back. Stacey needs him.”
Kheerat was last seen in 2022, and was sent to prison after taking the blame for the murder of Ranveer Gulati, in a bid to protect his mum Suki Panesar (Balvinder Sopal).
