EastEnders fans ‘work out’ new romance plot for Phil Mitchell – but it’s not with who you think

EastEnders viewers are buzzing with speculation about a potential new love interest for Phil Mitchell (portrayed by Steve McFadden), hinting at a ‘slow burner’ romance.
In the latest visit to Walford (18th June), viewers saw Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) urge her mother, Elaine (Harriet Thorpe), to doll herself up for a night out at The Queen Vic with the other local women.
The ladies’ evening escalated when Elaine donned a black veil and declared a round of Prosecco on the house, much to Linda’s dismay.
Celebrating her split from George Knight (Colin Salmon), Elaine seized the moment to make advances towards Phil, cheekily informing him: “Just so you know, I’m getting a divorce. Well, I am available, so call me anytime.”

Phil brushed off Elaine’s advances with a chuckle and kept busy behind the bar, lending a hand to his good friend Linda who was short on staff, reports Belfast Live.
Earlier in the year, Phil grappled with depression and suicidal thoughts, feeling profoundly isolated.
His mates Nigel Bates (Paul Bradley) and Linda stepped in to steer him towards the support he needed.
Linda, battling alcoholism, has similarly leaned on Phil for help, and both seem to be in better spirits now.
Yet, fans of EastEnders are convinced they’ve spotted a spark between Phil and Linda, predicting that a romantic pairing is on the horizon.
On Reddit, one viewer predicted, “She will hook up with Philth,” while another chimed in with, “Phinda is coming, just you wait.”
One viewer suggested: “Phil looked at her from a distance about 3 times in the last episode = this means they’ll do hanky panky.”
A fellow fan concurred, sharing: “That’s what I think is happening already. They’re on a slow burn.”
Another EastEnders enthusiast speculated: “I love Linda. I think her and Phil will get together. They will both run the Vic, and hopefully manage to stay off the booze. Shazza will return and be jealous”.
“I can! Phil can be a proper charmer when he wants someone,” one more added their take.
