Coronation Street’s Jude Riordan celebrates special occasion as co-star says ‘love you’

Coronation Street’s Jude Riordan has celebrated his 14th birthday. The actor has been sent well wishes and happy birthday messages from friends and family to mark the occasion.
Jude plays the role of Same Blakeman on the ITV soap, a character he has played since late 2020. Jude has won acclaim for his incredible performances through difficult storylines on the Cobbles.
Off-screen, he has formed close bonds with the young Coronation Street actors he works alongside. Hope Dobbs star Bella Flanagan shared a selfie of the two to her Instagram story, she captioned the image [sic] “Happy birthday bezzie lurv youuu.”
Will Flanagan has appeared as Joseph Brown on Corrie since October 2017, the son of Chesney. He posted a photo of Jude to his Instagram account, wishing him a happy birthday. He said: “Happy birthday to my best Corrie mate, have a gooden lad.”
Will and Bella Flanagan are siblings in real life, Chris and Rachel Flanagan are the proud parents to the soap stars and their other famous sister Amelia, plays the role of April Windsor in Emmerdale.
The acting family have been praised regularly for their performances and the siblings have made quite the impression on screen. At the 2022 Inside Soap Awards, both Amelia and Bella found themselves competing for the Best Young Performer award. The award was won by Bella who took home the award.
On his birthday yesterday, Jude shared a special family tradition that takes place on his birthday every year. He captioned an image: “Wouldn’t be a birthday without my Dad nipping to Costcutter for milk and missing Spiderman.”
The image of Jude being carried by his dad wearing a Spiderman costume, was similar to another he posted straight after from when he was three, he added: “Birthday Spiderman has been waking me up since I was 3.”
Coronation Street stars and fans left their comments on the posts. Lucy Fallon who plays Bethany Platt said “happy birthday Jude” and Jane Danson who plays Leanne Battersby commented “Happy birthday dude – have a great day ….sorry 14???? Whattttt!!”
Bernie Winter star Jane Hazelgrove sent her love as she wrote: “You fabulous young man you! Happy Birthday darling! Love you very much indeed!” Fans added: “Happy Birthday Jude I am honoured to share my birthday with such a talented young man. You will go far.”
Another commented: “Happy Birthday @justjude7 from your birthday twin hope you’re having a fabulous day.” Further responses included: “Happy 14th Birthday Jude I hope you are having a great day celebrating” and “Happy Birthday to you there Jude! Hope you have a really awesome day too there mate!”
The actor has opened up about his bond with his dad already this month. On May 5, The actor shared a video about nepotism babies. A ‘nepo’ baby refers to someone who benefits from their parents’ connections and influence.
Paul Riordan also works in the TV world with his son. While he may not be known for his time on-screen, he has had a huge impact behind the scenes of many shows as a TV director.
His TV career started in a behind-the-scenes role in Hollyoaks before he went on to work on soaps including Emmerdale, Coronation Street and Casualty. Last year the dad and son posed for a photo together on the famous Cobbles.
