Coronation Street’s Alan Halsall goes public with new girlfriend as romance gets ‘serious’

Coronation Street’s Alan Halsall has stepped out with his new love, confirming a romance with HR coordinator Ellie Dolan. Sources close to the couple revealed things are pretty serious between Alan and Ellie, who’s already made a great impression on Alan’s daughter Sienna.

The soap actor proudly shared a snap of the two of them on Friday, complete with a loving heart emoji in the caption, marking the first time he’s appeared with Ellie publicly.

A source shared: “Alan is really happy. Ellie is a great girl and they have lots of common. And she gets on so well with Sienna, which is so important to Alan. Sienna is his world.”

Rumour has it, love blossomed at the Marriott Worsley Park golf club where Alan hones his golf skills and Ellie is employed.

Alan split with his former co-star Tisha Merry, 31, in 2024 after five years together. The two had originally bonded on the set of the ITV hit series, reports the Mirror.

Alan, who has played lovable mechanic Tyrone Dobbs on the cobbles for over two decades, shares his 11 year old daughter with ex-wife and fellow former Corrie and Hollyoaks star Lucy-Jo Hudson, 42. Their marriage lasted almost a decade, tying the knot back in 2009 and parting ways in 2018.

At 42, having just recently joined the I’m A Celebrity line-up where he claimed the sixth spot, Alan has had quite the journey. While chatting about his personal life in the jungle, he expressed: “I love what I’ve got, even now I’m on my own I love just being dad. I’ve never done dating apps.”

Alan also shares a special connection with co-star Jennie McAlpine, as the pair portray long-standing on-screen couple Tyrone and Fiz. Recently, Alan referred to Jennie affectionately as his “work wife” in an Instagram post capturing them at lunch.

Devoted viewers have been engrossed in the two-decade saga of Tyrone and Fiz’s tumultuous romance, fervently hoping for their storybook conclusion. The pair almost reached the altar back in 2015 following a Christmas proposal, but financial troubles forced them to put love on hold.

Their relationship crumbled in 2021 after Tyrone strayed with Alina Pop, yet they reconciled and exchanged vows the following year.

Throughout her time on the cobbles, Fiz has walked down the aisle with convicted murderer John Stape in 2009, and had a chaotic wedding day with Phill Whittaker, ultimately choosing Tyrone over her new husband.

Tyrone himself has had memorable matrimonial moments, marrying Molly Compton in 2009 and narrowly escaping marriage with the volatile Kirsty Soames, leaving her at the altar.
