Coronation Street bosses are set to pull off a sensational comeback, bringing fan-favourite Catherine Tyldesley back to the cobbles after seven years away.
The actress, 41, is set to make a bombshell return as feisty Eva Price, with filming kicking off this summer before she appears on screen later this year.
A source spilled to The Sun: “Cath has been away for a while and worked on countless other projects but she really missed Corrie. They’ve tried to get her back a few times but the stars have never aligned. But when she was approached with the idea for Eva’s return, it was too good of an opportunity to pass up.”
They added, “She’ll start filming again in summer and be back on screen for autumn.
“She’s so excited and can’t wait to get back on the cobbles and it’s definitely not going to be a storyline to miss.”

Tyldesley first joined the ITV soap in 2011, bringing drama, romance, and heartache to Weatherfield until her emotional departure in 2018.
During her time on the show, Eva was at the centre of explosive storylines, including steamy relationships with Aidan Connor, Adam Barlow, Rob Donovan, Jason Grimshaw, and Nick Tilsley.
Her most heartbreaking moment came when she discovered she was pregnant with Aidan Connor’s baby and conspired with Toyah Battersby to secretly give the child away. But after their plan was exposed, Toyah returned baby Susie, and Eva was left devastated when Aidan tragically took his own life.
Soon after, Eva left Weatherfield behind for a fresh start in France with her mum Stella, and fans have been hoping for her return ever since.
The news comes as a number of beloved characters are leaving the soap.
Earlier this year, Tyldesley hinted she’d be open to coming back, telling Prima magazine: “Coronation Street feels like forever ago, but I always look back with such great fondness.”

She admitted bosses had already tried to lure her back, saying: “They’ve asked me to go back a couple of times over the years, and it just so happened that I was busy with other projects.
“But if they approached me with an amazing storyline and the time was right, of course, I’d go back. So it’s always a case of never say never.”
Since leaving Corrie, she’s landed major TV roles, starring in BBC One’s Scarborough, Channel 5’s The Good Ship Murder, and even competing on Strictly Come Dancing in 2019. More recently, she made a guest appearance in Michelle Keegan’s hit Sky comedy Brassic.
