Coronation Street Abi Webster star’s age stuns as she marks major personal milestone as co-stars declare love

Coronation Street star Sally Carman-Duttine has been flooded with messages as she revealed she was marking a major personal milestone.

The actress is best known to fans of the ITV soap for playing Abi Webster. Sally made her debut in the show back in 2017 but was previously known for a number of other TV roles, including playing heroin addict and prostitute Kelly Maguire in the Channel 4 series Shameless.

It was four years after the Channel 4 series came to an end that Sally landed the role of Abi, who at the time was also experiencing a drug addiction.

But Sally previously said she isn’t worried about being typecast in those grittier, more troubled character roles. “That ship sailed!” she smiled when talking to OK! Magazine. “The thing is, I always go to auditions looking smart. I always wash my hair and my armpits and put on make-up.

“Yet I’m still always seen as the one who can play a tart, a prostitute, a drug addict or somebody who has fallen on hard times. But I’m OK with it. I get to play meaty parts and really interesting characters. I feel so lucky and I don’t understand how anyone could be upset about being typecast because that means you’re working, doesn’t it?”

Now, away from her Weatherfield alter-ego, Sally has been celebrating as she marked her 50th birthday on Friday (May 9). She took to Instagram with some new snaps, in which she looked fabulous sporting a faux fur coat under a red mini dress.

She posed for a mirrored selfie before jumping on the sofa and sticking her leg high into the air as another snap was taken. Captioning the post, Sally wrote: “Happy 50th birthday to me #birthday #love #friends #fakefurcoats.”

Her Corrie co-stars were among the first to respond, with Sally Ann Matthews commenting: “Absolute stunner.” Georgia Taylor gushed: “You’re just too bloomin cool darling. HBD love you.”

Julie Goulding shared: “Have the best Birthday sweetheart, love you lots!” Samia Longchambon said: “Happy birthday! 50… more like FITTY!” Alan Halsall commented: “Happy birthday.”

Sally Dynevor replied: “Happy Birthday gorgeous.” Sue Devaney posted: “How fit are you? I could hug you for eternity! Love you Sally Carman Miranda Duttine! Have the most fabulous time in that there London! Lots and lots of love.”
