ITV Coronation Street’s Ellie Leach fans do a double take in ‘proud’ update
The actress confused fans in a recent post on social media

Former Coronation Street star Ellie Leach shocked fans after a recent Instagram post. The 23-year-old is renowned for her role as troubled teen Faye Windass on Coronation Street, but left the ITV soap in 2023 following a 12-year stint on the cobbles
Ellie came back onto our screens later that year, going on to win BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing. She regularly shares updates of her life off-screen to her social media pages and has a following of almost 500,000 people.
In a recent post, Ellie shared a photograph of her sister ready to go to her high school prom. She captioned the post: “My baby, I am so proud to be your sister. You are the most beautiful girl in the world, inside and out and I am so lucky you are mine.”
However, viewers had to do a double take when they thought the photograph was Ellie. Taking to the comments, one fan said: “Thought it was you . You both look so much alike x.” A second said: “Double of you!!!” A third fan agreed: “She’s your double.”
Earlier in the day, Ellie told fans she was getting her car cleaned ready to take her sister to prom. The actress couldn’t believe her younger sister was old enough to be leaving high school. She said: “Just getting my car cleaned to take my baby sister to PROM how did this happen I’m not ok x.”
The former Coronation Street star has had an incredible couple of years since leaving the cobbles. She won Strictly in 2023 paired with professional dancer Vito Coppola.
After impressing the nation with their footwork and their friendship, they headed into the Strictly final as odds-on favourites before lifting the Glitterball Trophy on the much-loved dance competition.

They have remained friends ever since. When competing on the show, the professional dancer and actress promised each other they would get matching tattoos if they got to the final.
They stayed true to their promise and on January 31 2024, they showcased their new tattoos together. The design is of a bee with an aubergine body, which relates to an inside joke they share.
Ellie only got the bee inked onto her arm but Vito also got the word ‘Resilience’ tattooed on his arm. On Instagram, Ellie shared a picture to her story of their tattoos and captioned it: “One whole year with our gorgeous baby bees” alongside a bee emoji. Fellow Strictly partner Vito, reposted the image and added “Oh baby. It’s one year already… time flies.”
