Coronation Street fans have been left astounded upon discovering that Vicky Myers had previously featured in a competing soap years ago.
Vicky gained recognition for her role as DS Lisa Swain on the ITV soap, making her debut in 2021 to aid with the Amy Barlow (Elle Mulvaney) rape case.
Since then, the police officer has become an integral part of the Coronation Street ensemble and a beloved character among the show’s dedicated fanbase. She has also been involved in numerous significant storylines over the past year.
From solving murders and incarcerating villains, to even becoming a murder suspect herself, Lisa’s tenure in Weatherfield has been anything but dull.

Moreover, Lisa, who has a daughter Betsy (Sydney Martin) with her late wife Becky, has found new love with soap icon Carla Connor (Alison King), reports Leicestershire Live.
Recently, Lisa proposed to Carla, following the heartbreaking death of Craig Tinker (Colson Smith). Unfortunately, Carla declined – but assured she does wish to marry Lisa in the future.
Before her time as DS Lisa Swain, actor Vicky had roles in shows like Ackley Bridge and Casualty. She also played a main character in the ITV drama The Long Shadow in 2023.
However, it’s only now that fans of the enduring ITV soap are realising she had a stint on rival soap Emmerdale back in 2007. On X, one viewer shared a clip of the actress on the show.
Vicky, known for her role as a receptionist who shared a scene with Emmerdale’s Val Pollard (Charlie Hardwick), astonished fans when one remarked: “I didn’t even know she was in Emmerdale.”
Another fan expressed their surprise at Vicky’s accent: “Her ACCENT wow i’m folding.”
while a third praised, “Brilliant!” Another viewer noted, “This was 18 years ago but she hasn’t changed much at all! She’s still gorgeous!”.
Beyond her Coronation Street fame, Vicky balances her acting career with motherhood to her teenage daughter Meghan, and has bravely faced personal challenges. Vicky underwent a heart-wrenching period in 2010 coping with a cancer diagnosis amidst a tough separation from her husband.
“I don’t know if it’s my previous medical history, but I am so proud to be here and just to be living each day to the full,” Vicky previously reflected on her journey.
Dealing with her split and illness, she explained her feelings at the time: “When my husband and I split up, I was quite down, bitter and vengeful, and when I was told I had [cancer], I remember thinking, ‘If this is it for me, I’ve missed out on all this time with my daughter and I haven’t really been the best person that I wanted to be.'”.
Vicky described her cancer as a wake-up call, saying, “The diagnosis re-centred me and made me focus on what is really important and what makes me happy. Now, every time I go into work and see the Coronation Street sign, it’s quite overwhelming.”
