Spoilers for the upcoming episodes of EastEnders promise a rollercoaster of emotions, including the anticipated return of a ‘missing’ local. Next week’s entanglements bring Kat and Alfie to their wedding day, but the question hangs in the air – will they make it down the aisle?
The BBC drama also hints at turmoil for George and Elaine upon Elaine’s discovery of her husband’s Christmas night whereabouts. And adding to the list of strained relationships, fans learn that Patrick and Yolande Trueman, played by Angela Wynter, are facing marital difficulties.
While viewers are dismayed by the couple’s troubles, they’re equally thrilled about Patrick, portrayed by Rudolph Walker, coming back to screens.

Patrick Trueman’s absence has been felt in recent episodes, while his partner Yolande has become an integral presence, notably supporting Nigel Bates through his dementia ordeal.
As the soap confirms, the upcoming week will see Patrick return, albeit amidst brewing discord with Yolande. The trouble begins with something as seemingly trivial as a massage denial from Patrick, but tensions rise as Yolande shares her deep relationship concerns with Denise, reports the Mirror.
Unveiling her doubts, she confides whether their connection can ever recover its past strength. The audience is left to wonder if there is a way forward for them.
An excited fan reacted to the teasers on X (previously Twitter), posting: “Patrick and Yolande are back next week I prayed for their return!”.
Patrick and Yolande’s on-screen marriage in 2004 ended with divorce five years later, but their liaison was rekindled upon Yolande’s return to Walford from Birmingham in 2023.
The reunited duo recently received the British Soap Award for Best On-Screen Partnership, contributing to a total of eight awards for the soap that evening, including the coveted Best British Soap, Best Single Episode, and Scene of the Year for Angie Watts’ dramatic comeback.
Amidst discussions about the reception of Rudolph Walker and Angela Wynter’s award, co-star Colin Salmon has weighed in on what transpired that evening.
Taking to Twitter, Colin, portraying George Knight in the enduring series, sought to clear the air, stating, “Just want to clarify; No one was booing Rudi and Angela at the@SoapAwards we were singing RUUUDI , RUUUDI , RUUUDI. “.
He continued, clarifying the intention behind the vocal reaction, “obviously confused some people” and expressing his understanding of why some might have been concerned. Wrapping up his message, he affirmed, “‘#NoDrama#WeLovePatrickandYolande @bbceastenders.”
