Whoopi Goldberg slumps in View chair during chat about confrontation between Bill Belichick’s ex and current girlfriend

"The View" moderator could be seen seemingly sleeping in her chair while the rest of her cohosts discussed a confrontation between Jordon Hudson and Linda Holliday.

It’s safe to say that The View’s chat about the current drama unfolding between Bill Belichick’s ex-girlfriend Linda Holliday, 62, and his current partner Jordon Hudson, 24, was not a touchdown with Whoopi Goldberg.

The EGOT winner fought valiantly during Thursday’s episode to stay engaged in the latest developments between the pair — which included Holliday reportedly requesting Hudson leave a Nantucket party that was being DJ’d by Holliday’s daughters last December — before eventually giving up, slumping down in her chair, and appearing to take a quick snooze.

Confused? Thankfully, Sara Haines offered to get Goldberg and the entire Hot Topics table up to speed on Hudson and Holliday’s confrontation.

“Jordon, the young one, goes to the party. Bill’s not even at the party. She’s going just for the ex, who is well known in this community, with the ex’s daughters DJ-ing this big party,” Haines claimed. “People asked her multiple times to leave because it was really about the daughters DJ-ing and this community that this ex was a part of and [Jordon] said, ‘It’s a party, I can be here.’”

Holliday and Belichick, 73, dated for 16 years from 2007 until 2023. The former NFL coach began dating Hudson, a former cheerleader, the same year that he split from Holliday.

While they do not share any children together, Alyssa Farah Griffin noted that Belichick was involved in the lives of Holliday’s twin daughters — Ashley and Kat Hess — throughout the couple’s longterm relationship.

“So the 24-year-old new girlfriend comes into a party where your mom is one of the hosts of and they ask her to leave,” she added. “I won’t say it goes as far as Single White Female, but it definitely gives social climbing.”

Goldberg could be seen taking in the conversation when Haines interjected, “That’s the one thing Bill can’t give her. She has to earn that on her own.”

However, things took a turn when Sunny Hostin jumped into the fray, revealing that she had a very “different take” about the whole kerfuffle. “Wait, let me get my pillow ready,” Goldberg prefaced as she got comfortable in her seat.

“I’m a child of divorce and when my parents were divorced, I was terrible to anyone they dated,” Hostin admitted. “I didn’t like it. I was uncomfortable with it. But as I’ve gotten older — and my parents have gotten older — I want them to have companionship. I want them to be happy.”

When Griffin questioned if Hostin would be okay with her dad having the companionship of a 24-year-old, the legal expert replied, “If my father met a 24-year-old that made him happy and he had this kind of companionship — I’m not talking about the party crashing and everything — I don’t know that I would be offended by it.”

As the conversation pivoted to discussing Belichick’s children — who are all older than Hudson — the camera cut to a wide shot of the Hot Topics panel to reveal Goldberg seemingly dozing at the table.

“But is [Hudson] a kidney donor match?” Joy Behar teased, snapping Goldberg out of her short snooze. Hostin replied, “She may be!”

Goldberg then added, “And on that note, we’ll be right back!”

An insider who attended the event told PEOPLE that a “verbal incident” allegedly occurred between Hudson and Holliday at the party, with Hudson eventually being “asked to leave by a group of people, but ultimately I think it was Linda who asked for her to leave.”

They added, “Whatever situation or history they might have between the two of them, that’s between them. Again, not the right place to do that. But it was a very, very uncomfortable night.”

Entertainment Weekly reached out to Hudson and Holliday for comment but did not immediately hear back.
