Coronation Street star Elle Mulvaney has teased she’s working on an ‘exciting project’ away from the cobbles that saw her reunited with her friend and former co-star.

The actress, who is famed for playing Amy Barlow in the ITV soap, shared some updates on social media in which she could be seen in London heading for some recording.

Captioning a post on her Instagram Story, which showed two mics set up with notepads and pens on the desk, Elle wrote: “Working on an exciting project today,” before tagging Calypso Voices, which is a voiceover agency.

She then reshared a post from fellow actor Jack James Ryan, who previously played her on-screen boyfriend Jacob Hay in Corrie.

The pair were seen beaming for a selfie as they got outside of the studio in London, with Jack saying: “Class to be back working with my main chica @ellemulvaney.” Elle then said: “dream team reunited #jamy.”

Jack gave an idea of what he was working out, but it wasn’t clear if that’s what he was doing with Elle, as he posted a solo selfie with he headphones on in front of the mic and said on his Instagram Story: “Back in the booth cooking up a new radio campaign.”

It comes after Elle confirmed her future on the ITV soap after 15 years. The soap star has been playing Amy, the daughter of soap icons Tracy Barlow and Steve McDonald, since she was seven years old, first appearing on the cobbles in 2010.

During a new interview with The Mirror, Elle confirmed that she’s not planning to leave Weatherfield anytime soon, even joking that she wants to outlast Bill Roach’s 65-year stint as her on-screen grandad Ken Barlow.

“It’s quite the challenge to beat,” she laughed. “I am young enough to do it, I guess. It must be incredible for someone to be here 65 years. All the stories he must have done and all the people he must have met.

“Who knows what the future will bring? But right now I am loving Corrie more than ever and have no plans to leave, so long as they still want me.”

The soap star continued: “I still can’t believe I have been there for 15 years. It’s hard to describe because in one way it feels that long but in another way it doesn’t.

“I joined when I was just seven and I’m now 22. I was just a young kid. I am so fortunate though. I still love Corrie, where I work and everyone I work with. I am just really lucky.”
