EastEnders icon’s exit ‘sealed’ after 40 years as huge bombshell confirmed
EastEnders spoilers have confirmed one returning resident exposes a hidden secret
EastEnders is set for a dramatic week as Cindy Beale (played by Michelle Collins) makes her explosive return to the Square on Monday (5th May), and she exposes Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth) as her violent attacker.
As fans of the BBC soap will know, Cindy left Walford in February after surviving the explosion at the Queen Vic, but hinted at a deadly revenge scheme upon her departure.
On the night of the deadly incident at the pub, which claimed the lives of Martin Fowler (James Bye) and Reiss Colwell (Jonny Freeman), Cindy discovered that Kathy was the mystery person who attacked her on Christmas Day and left her for dead.
Only hours after the revelation, Kathy saved Cindy’s life after she was trapped in the pub. However, Cindy is making a comeback to the Square and she’s about to expose Kathy’s secret.
Lauren Branning (Jacqueline Jossa) and Peter Beale (Thomas Law) kick start the week with an engagement party, with the couple also expecting their second child together.
While the Beales and Knights celebrate at Harry’s Barn, Lauren is forced to take a time out in the office following an offensive remark from Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt).
Kathy comes to the rescue before Lauren agrees to re-join her party, but the mood is lowered again when Cindy arrives.
Peter attempts to defuse the situation, but Lauren leaves and issues him an ultimatum—it’s her or his mum Cindy.
Cindy is shut out by all of her family, and in retaliation, she viciously reveals all about Kathy smacking her over the head with shovel.
She later heads to No. 29A to confront Lauren, but she is shocked to find Lauren in labour.
Cindy quickly takes matters into her own hands and rushes Lauren to the hospital when the ambulance is delayed, as Chelsea Fox (Zaraah Abrahams) is left to inform Peter.
Elsewhere, Kathy seeks solace with new lover Harvey Monroe (Ross Boatman), but the pair is interrupted by his girlfriend, Jean Slater (Gillian Wright).
Kathy makes up an excuse, and luckily, Jean is too preoccupied worrying about dementia sufferer Nigel Bates (Paul Bradley) to notice the pair cosying up together.
Later, Harvey invites Kathy on a caravan holiday, but their plans are later scuppered when Jean finds the brochure and the Slaters assume the holiday plans are for them.
Will Kathy manage to worm her way out Cindy’s revelation attacker? Or are her days on the Square numbered?
